Class: ELANG 350

Audience: BYU students who are choosing a minor or are interested in editing.

Instructions: Write a response paper for a student who is considering an editing

minor. Write your response paper in first person and explain why they should enroll

in the editing minor.

I helped the author trim down repetitive words and phrases throughout her essay. I

also gave her suggestions for a stronger thesis and helped her pick up the pace for

her essay.

also gave suggestions on how to strengthen his thesis and how to tie in elements of

art and science so that his essay would create an image in the audiences’ minds. I

also helped him find statements that were vague and offered suggestions to clarify

certain terms.

Class: ELANG 410

Audience: LDS millennials and adults

Instructions: Write a short story for the blog Mormon Insights  based on a talk from The Ensign.

I helped the author with the Mormon Insights  style and gave her suggestions on how she can make transitions smooth in her essay. I also helped trim repetitive words and smoothed out her thoughts. (NOTE: The author gave me permission to use her name in this sample.)
